Vienna, 1941: The famous German theatre actress Dorothea Neff is a celebrated star. Both the critics and the Nazis love her. One day, Lilli Wolff, an old acquaintance from her time at the Cologne theater, shows up at her apartment door. Dorothea and Lilli had something special back then, far more than just collegial friendship. Lilli is jewish and asks Dorothea for help. A big favor that could cost both women their lives.
